The Hamlet
We are Dave and Wendy, and
we have two adjoining properties available to rent. The
Cottage suitable for families ( 2 bedrooms plus adjoining
sleeping area for 6) or the Gite for couples/small family
(1 family bedroom sleeping up to 4) or combine both
properties for up to 10, please click on the links for more
information.
We are conveniently located close to the Vendee
border giving easy access to sandy beaches and
cosmopolitan La Rochelle to the west, the famous
medieval theme park of Puy de Fou to the north,
the Marais Poitevin and Mervent forest to
the south, and well known Futuroscope to the east.

If you are considering buying a property we can put you in

covering both the
Deux-Sèvres and Vendee departments.
We rent to only one party
at a time, so you will have exclusive use of the garden,
pool and barbecue.
Both properties have modern gas cookers and microwave
ovens.
Heating is by electric wall heaters and traditional wood
burning stoves.
Linen, towels, electricity, gas and wood are included in
the cost.
A Barbecue and Patio Pool are located on the upper terrace.
Car parking on site.

Cook under the shade of
the covered barbeque area and picnic overlooking superb
rolling countryside.
Cool off in the patio pool.
Look out for dragonflies, butterflies, salamanders and
hovering birds of prey.
The garden is made up of
several areas and levels where you can sunbathe or sit in the
shade.
The upper lawn is ideal for outdoor eating and a covered
gazebo gives welcome shade in the height of summer.
The lower grassed area is ideal for ball games and the
garden has its own natural "le rocher", a huge granite rock
exposed over centuries and a source of wonder to young and
old alike.
Many more of these rocks may be seen locally and Le Rocher
Branlant, a granite rock park with snack bar, picnic and
childrens play areas located on the banks of the Sèvre
Nantaise river, is only a few minutes drive or a pleasant
stroll away.
